49ers officially add free agent RB and S to offseason roster
The San Francisco 49ers brought in two veteran free agents for their offseason roster. Both have officially signed their deals with San Francisco.
The San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday officially signed running back Sincere McCormick and safety Patrick McMorris to one-year contracts. Both signings were previously reported and anticipated, but nothing is official until the team announces the deals. McCormick will be a familiar name to close followers of the 49ers.
He was with the club's practice squad last season from late August through mid-November. He also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals , Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings practice squads last season. McCormick played in five games for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024.
He earned two starts and posted 183 rushing yards on 39 carries. The 49ers now have a pretty crowded running back room for the offseason. McCormick joins Christian McCaffrey, 2024 fourth-round pick Isaac Guerendo, 2025 fifth-round pick Jordan James, 2026 third-round pick Kaelon Black and veteran Patrick Taylor.
McMorris has a real chance to play his way onto the 53-man roster in a safety room that doesn't have a ton of depth. Ji'Ayir Brown, Malik Mustapha and Marques Sigle are all returning, but there are no surefire starting duos just yet. The 49ers also signed undrafted free agent Jalen Stroman.
