Atlanta — Tigers’ No. 7-rated prospect (MLB Pipeline) Thayron Liranzo is finally getting his 2026 season started. The 22-year-old catcher-first baseman who strained his oblique at the end of spring training, has been activated and assigned to Double-A Erie.

After dominating the Arizona Fall League in 2024 (. 375 average, 1. 158 OPS), he struggled at the plate in Double-A last season (31% strikeout rate).
