Stephanie Vaquer is dealing with a real injury following Monday’s WWE Raw . Bryan Alvarez has confirmed that the shoulder issue Vaquer sustained during a backstage attack is legitimate, likely corresponding to the second-degree AC sprain that Michael Cole referenced on commentary after Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez attacked her. Perez rammed an equipment box into Vaquer’s shoulder during the segment, with Cole stating on air that Vaquer “would be out for a bit” as a result.
It remains unclear exactly when or how the injury was first sustained ahead of the angle airing. The attack itself was framed as a storyline development on Raw, but the real-world consequences of a legitimate second-degree AC sprain add a layer of uncertainty to WWE’s planning for Vaquer in the weeks ahead. A second-degree AC sprain involves partial tearing of the acromioclavicular ligaments and typically carries a recovery timeline measured in weeks rather than days.
This means Vaquer’s absence from in-ring competition could extend into the near future, depending on how her body responds to treatment. Vaquer most recently competed at WrestleMania 42 , where she lost the Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan in what had been a top match on the card. Prior to that loss, Vaquer had been one of WWE’s top female stars, holding the title and appearing regularly in top-of-card storylines.
Her post-WrestleMania plans were expected to keep her in that position heading into the spring and summer schedule via a feud with Morgan for the top women’s title on Raw, making the timing of the injury difficult from a creative standpoint. The segment that led to the injury involved Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez targeting Vaquer in a backstage attack, with Perez using an equipment box as a weapon to inflict the shoulder damage. Neither the full scope of the injury nor a specific return timeline has been confirmed publicly beyond Cole’s on-air comment that she would be out for a period of time.
