The Orlando Magic may be losing a key starter as they seek a historic NBA playoff upset.

The eighth-seeded Orlando Magic are on the precipice of a historic NBA playoff upset, with Jamahl Mosley's squad leading the Detroit Pistons 3-1 in their first-round series. One of the stars who brought them there could miss the potential closeout game. Franz Wagner, who left Game 4 against the Detroit Pistons late in the third quarter, has been diagnosed with a right calf strain, according to ESPN's Shams Charania .

The former Michigan star had 19 points, five rebounds and four steals before the injury. The Magic survived Wagner's exit to win 94-88 in an old school, rock fight of a game. Wagner's status for Game 5 is "uncertain," Charania reports , and will be determined by his response to treatment.

Orlando certainly needs him, as the physicality of Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. has been the difference-maker in its series with the top-seeded Pistons. Game 5 is scheduled for 7 p.

m. ET on Wednesday in Detroit. The pressure is on for the Pistons regardless of Wagner's availability, as Orlando is seeking to become the seventh team in NBA history to knock off a top seed in Round 1.
