Steelers invite fan favorite to rookie minicamp
The Steelers drafted Eli Heidenreich in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL draft and invited teammate
The 2026 NFL draft was a series of memorable moments for the Pittsburgh Steelers . Some good, some bad but one of the best was when the Steelers used a seventh-round pick on Navy running back Eli Heidenreich. A Pittsburgh native and Steelers fan, Heidenreich showed genuine emotion going out to the cheering crowd and meeting NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
Now, Heidenreich will get a chance to play a little more football with one of his former Navy teammates. Fellow Midshipmen running back Alex Tecza has been invited to participate at the Steelers rookie camp. He joins former Penn State punter Gabe Nwosu as the only two invites so far.
