Jonathan Greenard is already buying into Vic Fangio’s vision
A fresh start meets a proven defensive mastermind, and Jonathan Greenard looks like he can't wait to get to work.
The Philadelphia Eagles didn't just acquire a pass rusher when they traded for Jonathan Greenard. They brought in a believer looking for a fresh start. Often, that leads to fireworks.
In Greenard's case, that belief centers around defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, whose reputation has already made an impression. Without question, Greenard was the biggest prize veteran acquisition landed during the draft. One day after the announcement of the trade , one that the Eagles had seemingly set before it, he met with the Philadelphia media.
Before that, he was tracked down by NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark. Naturally, he was asked about his new defensive coordinator, and he was very complimentary. No one should be surprised by that.
“I know that he's a genius for a reason and one of the best in the game for a reason. So I'm excited to see what he's going to draw up. I can't wait to be a part of it.
