Danny White discusses Tennessee leading the nation in combined attendance for a third consecutive athletic year.
For a third consecutive year, Tennessee led all NCAA Division I schools in combined attendance across football , men's basketball and women's basketball . The Vols and Lady Vols led the nation in overall and average attendance in both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 athletic years. "The power and passion of Vol nation are unrivaled and there is simply nothing like it in sports," Tennessee vice chancellor and director of athletics Danny White said.
"Once again, Vol nation proves beyond a doubt that the absolute best fans in the country are right here on Rocky Top. "On behalf of every student-athlete, coach and staff member at Tennessee, thank you to the best fan base in all sports for making Knoxville unmistakably 'America's best sports city. '" Tennessee totaled 1,181,715 fans for attendance across 37 home events in the three sports, over 138,000 more than second-best Texas A&M.
Only five schools totaled more than 1,000,000 fans. In 2024-25, Tennessee had a total of 1,234,843 fans at 41 home events. The Vols and Lady Vols had 1,161,218 fans in 38 home games in 2023-24.
Additionally, Tennessee led the nation in average attendance with 31,938 fans, nearly 6,000 more per game than the Aggies.
