What's scary is, that this team has yet to reach their full potential. Before running into one of the few teams that are ranked higher than them in Bleacher Report's recent power ranking , the Los Angeles Dodgers , the Cubs were on a 10-game winning streak. They cruised past the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies , and that Phillies series was a four-game sweep.

The Cubs have gotten it done with their bats, as they have the third-best batting average in all of baseball at. 263 as a team. To go along with the contact, they have made the most of their hits with some power, as their 37 homers as a team are the sixth-most in MLB.

One bat that has been missing from that power portion, that were very evident in 2025. Pete Crow-Armstrong, who hammered 31 long balls last season has only been able to get one out home run out of the ball park this season. Crow-Armstrong is a pivotal member of this Cubs team, and eventually, he will start to catch fire.
