Frankfort's balanced offense leads to 12-1 win at Allegany
CUMBERLAND — No. 1 Frankfort combined a balanced offense with a strong start from Carson Durst, leading to a 12-1, six-inning win at No. 4 Allegany on Monday.
"Carson pitched great, offensively I thought we did a really nice job," Frankfort manager Matt Miller said. "We hit the ball when it was in the zone. We took advantage of some walks.
We were patient at the plate, but aggressive, which is what we're supposed to be, attacking strikes. I thought we did a pretty good job of that today. " Durst tossed six innings of one-run ball on three hits and four walks with nine strikeouts.
"Got ahead with his fastball," Miller said. "When he got ahead with his fastball, his changeup was really good. Those were his main two pitches, usually he's fastball and curveball.
Today, it was fastball and changeup. Did a really nice job keeping them off balance. Really good job hitting his spots when he was ahead in the count.
