President Macron: PSG will beat Bayern 3-1 in Champions League
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Paris Saint-Germain will beat Bayern Munich 3-1 on Tuesday night but was more cautious on whether PSG can go all the way and retain the Champions League title. Macron, who normally supports PSG's big rivals Olympique Marseille, made the prediction when asked by school children during a visit to Andorra on Tuesday morning, French media said. "I'm actually an OM fan, but PSG are playing tonight, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them!
I think they'll win 3–1," Macron was quoted as saying. Asked whether PSG could lift the trophy like last year, he said: "You can never be certain but it is a great team. " Tuesday's match at the Parc des Princes is the first leg of the semi-final tie.
The return leg in Munich is next week Wednesday. The winner faces either Arsenal or Atletico Madrid in the May 30 final in Budapest. Paris mayor Emmanuel Grégoire had two huge banners with PSG's colours hung at city hall in support of the capital club.
‘Tonight I’ll be beside the team at Parc des Princes to support them. We’ve brought out our finest colours, and all Parisians will be behind you. We’re expecting a win.
Good luck," Grégoire said in a video on X.
