NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced a statement performance on Monday in IPL 2026, dismantling Delhi Capitals in a one-sided contest that will be remembered as much for its records as its dominance. At the heart of it was young spinner Suyash Sharma, who etched his name into the league’s history books with a spell of rare control and precision. Suyash delivered 20 dot balls in his four overs, equalling the all-time IPL record for most dot balls in a single innings, previously achieved by Deepak Chahar while playing for Chennai Super Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2019.
On Monday, Suyash conceded just seven runs and picked up a wicket in Delhi, registering one of the most economical four-over spells ever by a spinner in IPL history. The collapse of Delhi Capitals was dramatic. Reduced to 8 for 6 inside four overs, they never recovered, eventually folding for 75, one of the lowest totals of the season.
Contributions from Abishek Porel (30) and David Miller (19) only delayed the inevitable as RCB’s bowling unit ran riot. The damage, however, began earlier. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood combined for seven wickets, slicing through the top order with ruthless efficiency.
