Notre Dame men’s basketball is close to adding Winthrop assistant coach Tony Rack to its coaching staff.

It has been an offseason full of movement for Notre Dame men’s basketball team, and it looks like an addition to the coaching staff is nearing an announcement. According to Tom Noie of the South Bend Tribune , the Irish are in talks with Winthrop associate head coach Tony Rack to join the program. On3 gave his background as he’s been with the Eagles since 2021, his second stint with the program.

Rack started his coaching career there as a graduate assistant before leaving for jobs at Western Carolina and Northern Kentucky. The Ohio native played a Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller, as the Irish are very familiar with that program. Winthrop center Logan Duncomb recently transferred to Notre Dame , and it looks like the two could be reuniting very soon.
