His unbeaten 71 off 36 balls in the record 265-run chase last Saturday in Delhi wasn’t just about clean hitting; it was more about control and the ability to remain unruffled under pressure. A significant part of that transformation can be traced to his partnership with head coach Ricky Ponting. The Iyer– Ponting axis has given Punjab Kings belief that they can go all the way.
