However, there are others who absolutely need to stop with their comments and maybe look in the mirror a bit. One of those guys is Trevor Story, as Story has been an absolute bust ever since playing in Boston. We can go on and on about why Story hasn't been the player that he was expected to be, but let's just start with the fact that he's appeared in fewer than 95 games in three of his first four seasons in Boston.
He's played 27 this year, which is a step in the right direction, but he's hitting . 198 with 37 strikeouts. Even with all the struggles that we've seen him have with the Red Sox, it hasn't stopped him from making comments, and he made sure to let it be known how he felt over the weekend after Cora was dismissed.
"I mean obviously, it's kind of up in the air what the true direction of the franchise is," the two-time All-Star said Sunday morning before a series finale against the Baltimore Orioles , per ESPN . "Some of the best coaches in the world didn't get a fair shot. " "He had our backs every single day," Story said.
