In 2025, the Cardinals were one of the worst teams in the league, and as a result, owned the No. 3 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. With that pick, the team selected running back Jeremiyah Love , which some felt was an odd decision considering all the needs the team has.
The team also didn't do much in free agency to inspire confidence in 2026. Wide receivers Devin Duvernay and Kendrick Bourne were the big additions on offense, while Roy Lopez and Andrew Wingard were added to the defense. One of the more interesting picks the team made in the draft was quarterback Carson Beck in the third round.
Beck played in plenty of big games in college for both Georgia and Miami. However, scouts were divided on Beck's pro potential, as he's an older prospect and isn't a special athlete. The Cardinals also have Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew on the roster as well, and it's more likely that one of those veterans starts in 2026.
