Lady Vols win SEC softball series against Alabama.
No. 8 Tennessee (40-8, 14-7 SEC) defeated No. 3 Alabama (44-6, 16-5 SEC), 4-1, Monday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
With Monday's win, the Lady Vols clinched the series against Alabama. It was the Crimson Tide's first SEC series loss. Tennessee led, 3-0, in the fourth inning after scoring three runs.
Emma Clarke hit a RBI double, making the score, 1-0. Taelyn Holley singled later in the fourth inning. The Crimson Tide committed an error on the play, allowing Clarke to score.
Alannah Leach also recorded a RBI on a sacrifice fly. The Lady Vols extended their advantage to, 4-0, on a RBI single by Holley. Alabama's Mari Hubbard hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.
