After selecting Drew Allar, some Pittsburgh Steelers fans have questioned whether the decision could affect Aaron Rodgers' future. Rodgers, who has yet to tell the Steelers whether he plans to return or not, puts them in one of the more interesting positions around the NFL. Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, this isn't something that it wants to deal with, but something that will have to be fixed in the foreseeable future.

According to the latest, while the decision raised some questions about Rodgers's future, it doesn't seem to be affecting the future Hall of Famer just yet. โ€œMy take: The Steelers were proactive at the quarterback position as they await word from Rodgers, and quarterbacks coach Tom Arth said he doesn't think picking Allar will affect Rodgers' decision. โ€œPicking Allar signals the Steelers' belief in McCarthy's ability to develop quarterbacks because Allar is far from a finished product.

But at 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds with big hands and long arms, Allar has the measurables valued by the veteran coach. The quarterback guru, though, will have his work cut out for him as he'll have to work to develop both Allar and 2025 sixth-round pick Will Howard,โ€ Brooke Pryor of ESPN wrote . As Pryor touched on, it's only fair to point out some of these struggles that Allar had during his time in college.

Every team in the NFL knew that if they were going to select him, they were going to have to develop him. That's part of the reason here why the Steelers should be hoping that Rodgers returns, as Allar can learn a lot from him. "He's a big, strong physical player.

He has big hands. He has a strong arm. He's built to last.
