The Browns expressed interest in former Akron Zips cornerback Malcolm DeWalt IV, but he chose to join the Falcons as an undrafted free agent.

Former Akron Zips cornerback Malcolm DeWalt IV will have a chance to live an NFL dream with the Atlanta Falcons . On the heels of the 2026 NFL Draft wrapping up this past weekend, DeWalt struck a deal to join the Falcons as an undrafted free agent, his agency announced on social media. DeWalt spent the past two seasons at Akron after transferring from Butte College.

He graduated from Olympic High School in Bremerton, Washington. As a junior in 2024, DeWalt played 11 games for Akron and tallied seven tackles, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
