Dylan Mingo, the No. 8 recruit in 2026 class, commits to Baylor

Baylor has had six straight classes with a five-star pledge.

On April 6, North Carolina announced the hiring of former Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone as the program's next head coach. A week later the Tar Heels lost a commitment from their highest-rated 2026 prospect in Long Island Lutheran five-star combo guard Dylan Mingo. After two weeks, Mingo has found his new home.

Mingo will head from New York down to Waco after committing to Scott Drew and the Baylor Bears. It will also give him an opportunity to team up with his older brother Kayden who transferred to Baylor from Penn State. Kayden averaged 13.
