For many Red Sox players, Cora was the only Major League manager they'd ever had. Impressively, Boston still managed to beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-3 in Chad Tracy's first game as interim manager , earning a much-needed series win. Red Sox rookie Connelly Early stepped up on the mound, earning the win after holding the Orioles to two runs on four hits and a walk over 6 2/3 strong innings.
