A former Boston Celtics point guard is in the news as a potential future head coach for the New Orleans Pelicans , per recent reporting from The Stein Line reporters Jake Fischer and Marc Stein. Per the duo, Celtics alum Rajon Rondo could be in the mix to land the Pels' head coaching gig. "Rondo has been interviewed for the post after serving as a special assistant on Doc Rivers' Milwaukee (Bucks) staff," they note.

"Rondo is said to have felt his first coaching itch while recovering from a torn ACL as a Celtic, prompting (then, head coach, now Boston President of Basketball Operations) Brad Stevens to bring him into staff meetings. " With interim head coach James Borrego having done a solid job with a less-than-stellar roster last season and some off-court incidents in his not-so-distant past, this may not be the job where the Kentucky alum lands his first head coaching gig. But given his deep knowledge of the sport and evident interest in making the leap, we do expect Rondo to end up coaching sooner rather than later.

Even if he has to work his way up through the ranks in the old-fashioned way. Listen to "Havlicek Stole the Pod" on: Blue Wire: https://tiny. ee/CdKp iTunes: https://tiny.
