Merab Dvalishvili vs. Frankie Edgar booked for RAF 09
RAF continues to book UFC legends.
It'll be UFC legend vs. UFC legend at RAF 9. Former bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar will wrestle May 30 at College Park Center in Dallas, the promotion announced Monday.
The event streams on Fox Nation. The wrestling match marks both men's promotional debuts. Dvalishvili was scheduled to compete vs.
Henry Cejudo in April, but the bout was canceled when Cejudo suffered a last-minute injury. Dvalishvili is currently between UFC bookings, having not competed since his December title loss to Petr Yan . He does not have a fight on the books.
Edgar has not partaken in high-level competition since his UFC retirement in November 2022. He was scheduled to compete at BKFC 82 this past October, but was pulled from the event. It remains debated whether the athletic commission or promotion pulled him from the event.
