It's likely to be an easy one, but it's a decision nonetheless. Currently in Triple-A on a minor league contract, shortstop Paul DeJong can opt out of his deal with the Yankees at the end of April. According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman , DeJong is planning to find an opportunity with another club if the Yankees don't promote him to the Majors within the next few days.

"Paul DeJong gave the Yankees notice he's planning to opt out at the end of the month if not promoted," Heyman wrote on X. It's likely DeJong, who is obviously behind Anthony Volpe and Jose Caballero on New York's shortstop depth chart, will watch his time with the AL East club come to an end soon. Louis Cardinals in 2019, but his hitting numbers have tailed off in recent seasons. He doesn't turn 33 until August and has six homers in 78 trips to the plate with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, New York's Triple-A affiliate. There's bound to be a team that could use a utility infielder with pop, but, for now, that may not be the Yankees.
