313 pounds of power has Gabe Nwosu’s leg heading to Steelers’ rookie minicamp
To say the Pittsburgh Steelers are thinking outside the box when it comes to the punter position would be an understatement. According to the Senior Specialist All-Star Game X account, the Steelers have invited Penn State punter Gabe Nwosu to rookie minicamp. Punters normally aren’t very exciting, but Nwosu breaks the mold.
The interesting thing about Nwosu is he’s built like a lineman . The man is 6-foot-6 and 313 pounds . Talk about an absolute unit.
To get an idea of just how big he is compared to other punters, most players at Nwosu’s position are in the neighborhood of 200 pounds, give or take. In his first year as the full-time punter, Nwosu blasted eight punts over 50 yards last season, including four over 60 yards and a long of 68 yards. In all, Nwosu averaged 46 yards per punt in 2025 and dropped 39. 5% of them inside the 20.
