This yearโ€™s draft had a few options , but GM Andrew Berry pulled the trigger on other positions to fill the teamโ€™s 10-person draft class .

It is possible, with multiple offensive linemen and tight ends selected this year, that Monken will make do with using them, or DT Adin Huntington , in the fullback role. On Monday, following the completion of the NFL draft, GM Andrew Berry dipped back into NFL free agency to give Monken another option for the position, veteran FB Michael Burton : Browns are signing veteran fullback Michael Burton. โ€” Tony Grossi (@TonyGrossi) April 27, 2026 Burton entered the NFL in 2015 as a fifth-round selection of the Detroit Lions.

In 10 seasons, Burton has played in 147 games with six different teams. With over 1,300 snaps on offense, Burton has just 42 carries and 31 receptions on his resume. The Rutgers product has also played over 1,800 snaps on special teams.

Pro Football Focus has graded Burton as a 70 or higher run blocker in five of his seasons, including last year with the Denver Broncos. Are you surprised the Browns were able to sign a fullback so quickly after the draft? Do you think Burton is likely to make the team in Monkenโ€™s offense?
