Colorado targeting Division II defensive tackle from transfer portal
Colorado targeting Division II DT Jaylen Harris, a 315-pound lineman who is set to visit the Buffs in the next few weeks.
The college football transfer portal has been closed for a couple of months, but there are still hundreds of players in the portal looking for homes. One of those players is Central Missouri defensive tackle Jaylen Harris, a Division II standout who plans to visit Colorado soon. 247Sports Chris Hummer reported Monday that the 6-foot-3, 315-pound lineman is a target for Deion Sanders' squad.
Harris holds multiple FBS offers and is one of the most productive defensive linemen remaining in the portal. Last season, he had 30 tackles, two tackles for a loss and two quarterback hits. Interior defensive line is still a major need for a Colorado team that focused more on lighter edge defenders in the transfer portal.
Ezra Christensen, a big-bodied defensive tackle who committed to the Buffs, is still in the process of finding out whether he is eligible for another collegiate season. If Christensen is not granted another year, the Buffs will have a major hole at nose tackle, and Harris would be a nice consolation piece. That isn't to say the Buffs would not love to add both players.
