Panthers LS JJ Jansen reacts to team’s 2026 draft class
Panthers LS JJ Jansen seems to approve of what his front office did in the NFL draft this past weekend.
Up is down, black is white and the Carolina Panthers are now considered one of the best drafting teams in the NFL. In 2025, president of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan and his team constructed a great class—turning a below-average roster into one that can at least compete with the best that the NFC has to offer. And while it's still early here in 2026, their latest work has yielded quite a bit of acclaim .
The analytics are also loving what Carolina did last weekend. Longtime long snapper JJ Jansen shared this chart on Twitter/x this past weekend, showing that the Panthers got the best value for their picks in Rounds 1 through 6: Just going to leave this here… We will discuss this at length on next week’s episode of JJ and Luke! h/t: @sfdata9ers pic.

But the Panthers have found a way to balance their immediate and long-term needs while also taking advantage of the specific strengths of draft class and prioritizing premium positions in the modern game.
That's a lot of balls to juggle at once, and Morgan deserves a lot of credit for being able to do so. Although his track record isn't perfect (see Legette, Xavier), he's done more than enough to give the Panthers a competitive roster. Follow @ThePanthersWire on Twitter/X for more Panthers content.
