Luke Meredith hired as boys basketball coach at Greenfield-Central. Program's all-time wins' leader coached Cougars from 2019 to 2025.

Greenfield-Central did not have to look far to find its next boysโ€™ basketball coach. Luke Meredith, who coached the Cougars for six seasons from 2019-โ€™25, will return to lead the program. The school board approved the move on Monday.

Meredith, the programโ€™s all-time wins leader with an overall record of 109-37, stayed at the school as a strength coach after stepping down last spring as coach. He replaces Miles Wayer, who is expected to be approved as the new Fishersโ€™ coach on Wednesday. Meredith never had a losing season during his tenure at Greenfield-Central, including a 68-7 record in his final three seasons, culminating with a 23-4 mark in 2024-25 in a season that saw Braylon Mullins win Indiana Mr.

Basketball. The Cougars were 12-12 last season under Wayer after the program turned over with several newcomers and little varsity experience. Call Star reporter Kyle Neddenriep at (317) 444-6649.
