College baseball rankings for Week 12: Updated USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, top 25 polls
Here's an updated look at the USA TODAY Sports College Baseball Coaches Poll for Week 12 and more.
With conference tournaments just a few weeks out, the USA TODAY Sports College Baseball Coaches Poll has stayed even-keeled, with the top 25 rankings not seeing much change heading into the final week of April. UCLA remains in the driver's seat for the No. 1 spot in the country after the Bruins handled business away from Big Ten play by picking up three non-conference wins, including a weekend series win over Sacramento State.
A costly five-run third inning on Sunday vs. Sacramento State wasted Roch Cholowsky's multi-home run day and kept UCLA from bringing out the brooms. The Bruins weren't the only ones that stayed in their spots from a week ago, as the top seven teams did not shift after Week 11's slate of games.
Georgia Tech received one first-place vote, ending a four-week streak of UCLA being the unanimous No. 1 tam team in the Coaches Poll. More: New No.
1 leads college football too-early Top 25 after spring practice Tennessee made a statement with a series win over No. 23 Alabama. In Friday's doubleheader sweep, the Volunteers outscored the Crimson Tide 21-4 on the base paths, while Tegan Kuhns tossed a complete game shutout in Game 2 of the series, with nine strikeouts and just one walk.
