The 25-year-old is a world outdoor silver medallist in the heptathlon and recently won bronze in the women's pentathlon at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Poland in March having claimed silver in the same event last year. Following two weeks of some much-needed physical and mental rest, O'Connor is preparing for a training camp in Portugal next month as she builds towards the Commonwealth Games and European Athletics Championships.

Having enjoyed so much success in 2025, O'Connor is keen to keep improving and is reluctant to place restrictions on how far she can go with the Olympics still two years away. "I don't know what the limit is for me and I don't want to put it out there. I've not reached my potential in any of the events," she said.

"There's definitely goals that I have, whether that's getting on the podium at LA [in 2028] or winning in LA or trying to go through the 7,000-point barrier, but I don't really necessarily want to end there. I wouldn't like to put a limit on what that's going to be. "I've definitely not reached my potential in any of the events, far from it.

There's so much that I can work on. "Obviously, I want to score better than I did last year. I want to get better.
