In the end, nothing came to fruition but with the summer window now just around the corner, rumours are starting to re-emerge but, this latest update from L'Interista makes it feel like Liverpool will need to pick up their speed if they want to sign Dumfries.
The report starts by saying that interest in signing the right-back still remains from England with 'top clubs' eyeing a move for him. At the moment, the Dutchman has a release clause but, L'Interista believe that Inter Milan want to 'propose a renewal' of his deal. This new deal wouldn't include a release clause and would practically guarantee that the 30-year-old sees out his career in the Serie A.
