Nebraska baseball (33-11, 17-4) faced off against Illinois (21-21, 9-12) Sunday afternoon to conclude the three-game series. The Huskers triumphed over the Fighting Illini, winning a 3-0 shutout to clinch the series. Gavin Blachowicz and Ty Horn took the mound on the day to combine for the shutout, allowing just six hits all game.

Blachowicz (4-1) started the game for Nebraska and pitched 6. 1 innings. He fired four strikeouts in his win and allowed six hits.

Horn closed out the final 2. 2 innings and retired the final eight batters in order to pick up his first save of the season. The Huskers finished the afternoon with nine hits.

Rhett Stokes and Jeter Worthley both earned an RBI in the win, with Stokes hitting an RBI double in the second and Worthley grabbing his first career home run in the seventh. Mac Moyer got the final run for Nebraska, hitting a triple before scoring off a wild pitch. Case Sanderson played consistently in the win, going 2-for-3 and getting hit by a pitch twice.
