The St. Louis Cardinals begin a four-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night. Currently, the Cardinals are in a stretch where they play 17 games in 17 days.
To ensure all of their pitching staff are healthy, they've decided to call up an arm from Triple-A. According to Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat , Cardinals manager Oli Marmol informed reporters that right-hander Hunter Dobbins will make a spot start against the Pirates on Thursday. Dobbins, a former pitching prospect, was acquired in the trade that sent Willson Contreras to the Boston Red Sox during the offseason.
