After another fun week of the high school baseball season, it's time to look back on the best performances. Read about the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the Morris/Sussex Player of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page. Voting closes at 5 p.
m. Thursday. Kieran Brendle, Chatham Brendle had five hits, six RBIs, three runs, and a home run in three games last week to help stretch the Cougars win streak to seven in-a-row.
Tyler Haberstroh, Wallkill Valley Haberstroh took the mound twice last week and earned two wins over Hackettstown and Sparta. He threw 11 innings allowing just one run with one walk while striking out 13. Dylan Kelly, Lenape Valley Kelly tossed a seven-inning, eight strikeout, six-hit complete game against Sussex Tech last week to lead the Patriots to a 6-3 win.
Matthew Lynch, Mendham Lynch collected six hits last week and three RBIs in three games last week, including a 4-for-4 performance with two runs and an RBI in a 7-1 win over West Morris. Hunter Wolfe, Newton Wolfe went 2-0 on the mound last while striking out 18 batters across two starts over Dover and Kittatinny. The junior also drove in the walk-off game winning run in Newton's 3-2 victory over Kittatinny while also stealing 8 bases on the week.
