Real Zaragoza goalkeeper sucker punches opponent in shocking scene
Real Zaragoza goalkeeper Esteban Andrada is facing a lengthy suspension after a shocking sucker punch on Huesca captain Jorge Pulido in Sunday's match. Andrada was already shown a red card after being given a second yellow in the 98th minute for shoving Pulido. But the 35-year-old Argentine took things much further when he chased Pulido down and delivered a punch directly to his face.
Chaos ensued directly after as a massive brawl between the two La Liga 2 clubs began. This resulted in red cards for both Huesca goalkeeper Dani Jiménez and Zaragoza defender Dani Tasende. Andrada, who is on loan from Liga MX giants Monterrey, issued an apology after the incident.
"The truth is I'm very, very sorry for what happened," Andrada said. "It's not a good image for the club, for the fans, and especially not for a professional like myself. So, I'm very sorry.
"Throughout my career, I've only had one red card, and that was for a handball outside the penalty area. "I also want to apologize to Jorge Pulido because we are colleagues, and honestly, it was my fault, I lost focus at that moment, and well, I am here for whatever consequences the league may give me.
