The modest Montevideo club beat Cerro Largo 1-0 on Sunday (26). Racing, however, needed Peñarol to slip up. And that happened just as the squad was on the BUS.
The celebration took place right there: Racing is a century-old club, founded in 1919. But until then, the team had only won titles in Uruguay’s second division (nine times). With Sunday’s win (26), Racing reached 30 points - seven points ahead of Deportivo Maldonado and Peñarol.
