Nebraska softball announces naming of Rhonda Revelle Field
Nebraska has announced that Bowlin Stadium has been named Rhonda Revelle Field in honor of the long-time Husker head coach.
The Nebraska Athletic Department made a significant announcement in honor of its long-time softball coach. Bowlin Stadium has been named Rhonda Revelle Field in honor of the Husker head coach. Revelle is in her 34th season as head coach and led the Huskers to 23 postseason appearances and three trips to the Women's College World Series (1998, 2002, 2013).
She holds an all-time record of 1,1710-680 and has the third-most victories of any active Division I head coach. Revelle was also a three-year letterwinner at Nebraska, helping the program reach its first Women’s College World Series in 1982. She was also an All-Big Eight team selection that season.
The announcement was made by AD Troy Dannen following the team's 13-0 victory over Iowa in the regular season finale. “This is a most deserving honor for one of the truly great coaches and people in the history of college softball. Rhonda Revelle is Nebraska Softball.
She has won more games than any coach in the history of Nebraska athletics and her sustained success speaks for itself. We are proud that all future Husker home softball games will be played on a field bearing Rhonda’s name. ” The Huskers are in the midst of one of the best seasons in school history, with a 40-6 overall record and a 15-1 home record.
