Heinzen started the season opener at left tackle before transitioning to center for his next six starts. Prior to transferring to play for the Badgers, Heinzen set a record by making 36 consecutive starts for the Chippewas.
He was a three-time Academic All-Mid-American Conference selection, and it's worth noting that the only four games he didn't start came in his redshirt freshman season. Heinzen, who also set a trio of records as a tight end at Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, WI, was named to USA Today's Lakeshore Elite 11 back in 2018.
