Pep Guardiola ‘mesmerised’ by Man City transfer target Eli Junior Kroupi Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi is on Manchester City’s attacking shortlist for this summer. Sky Sport Switzerland now reports that manager Pep Guardiola admires the Frenchman, who has impressed in his debut season in the Premier League. He has scored 11 goals, becoming the first teenager to reach double figures in the competition since the 1999/2000 season.
Kroupi’s agent has reportedly met with City director Hugo Viana, who has also been impressed with his skillset. However, City have yet to contact Bournemouth over a potential deal. The Cherries want to keep Kroupi beyond this summer, but could consider a sale if they receive at least a €80 million offer for him.
City will face competition for his signing as Arsenal have contacted his agents , while Paris Saint-Germain are also considering a move for the France youth international. The Cityzens are only likely to make a move for Kroupi if there is an attacking departure. They are currently well-stocked at centre-forward — Kroupi’s natural position — with Erling Haaland, Omar Marmoush, and Antoine Semenyo providing depth.
However, Marmoush could leave in search of regular playing time. Aston Villa are said to be interested in the Egypt international, after exploring to sign him on loan in January. Marmoush’s departure would free up space and the proceeds from his potential sale could be used to fund a move for Kroupi.
