TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Bring out the brooms for the Jayhawks. No. 16 Kansas (33-11, 17-4 Big 12) completed the Sunflower Showdown sweep on Sunday, April 26, beating rivals K-State (26-18, 9-12 Big 12) 9-7.

Kansas has now won 17 of its last 18 games. Both teams got busy early, each plating four runs in the second inning. The action didn’t stop there as both teams scored in the third, with the Wildcats taking a narrow 6-5 lead heading to the fourth inning.

Kansas scored three straight across the next three innings before the game was delayed due to the weather. After nearly a five-hour delay, the game resumed in the sixth inning. Both teams added a run in the ninth as the Jayhawks would complete the sweep winning 9-7.
