Lady Vols defeat Alabama to tie SEC softball series

No. 8 Tennessee (39-8, 13-7 SEC) defeated No. 3 Alabama (44-5, 17-3 SEC), 2-0, Sunday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

With Sunday's victory the Lady Vols tied the SEC against Alabama. Tennessee will play for a series win on Monday. First pitch is slated for 7 p.

Tennessee pitcher Sage Mardjetko ( 11-1) recorded a complete game for Tennessee, pitching seven innings. She allowed one hit and three walks, while recording six strikeouts. Mardjetko totaled 95 pitches, including 60 strikes.
