Manitoba set themselves as the Alpha Team by outshooting Milwaukee 15-7 in the first period.
In a shift lasting 1:47 minutes alone, the Moose fired up five shots at Admirals goalie Matthew Murray, with the last one being the game-opening goal by forward Walker Duehr. Milwaukee had their opportunities in the first period including 3:50 minutes of power play time, but only put up one unproductive shot. In the second period, the Admirals turned the table and outshot the Moose 10-7, but it was Manitoba's Samuel Fagemo who pocketed the eventual game-wining goal for the home side.
While Manitoba opened the third period outshooting Milwaukee 6-1 in the first 7:49, the determined Admirals clawed back and outshot the Moose 14-2 for the rest of the game, including getting a goal back from forward Jake Luchinni off a giveaway from Fagemo, but that would be as close as they would get, thanks to the heroics of Moose goalie Domenic DiVincentiis. DiVincentiis made 31 saves off 32 shots for a save percentage of 0. 969.
Milwaukee goalie Murray made 28 saves off 30 shots for a save percentage of 0. 933.
