TV The Dial: Treasure Island Baseball Network Spies ‘R Us: DRAYSBAY I never got to fully appreciate the King of Pop. By the time I was of music-appreciation age, MJ was in full “Wacko Jacko” Era: all Neverland Ranch accusations & dangling babies over balconies and little in the way of actual music. I missed out on all the Thriller, Billie Jean, Man in the Mirror, etc.
hype. Fortunately, a new musical biopic released this week may help me understand the scope of Jackson’s career: I saw it yesterday and thought it was decent (7/10 stars). A lot of great musical numbers, for sure.
Strangely, though, it feels like a “part one” when a “part two” is not promised (and likely never to come, as this was all overseen by the Jackson Estate and they won’t want to tell the story of later-years Michael).
