UH softball team wins on walk-off walk
Milan Ah Yat drew a bases-loaded, walk-off walk in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Hawaii softball team beat Cal Poly 3-2 on Saturday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Ah Yat’s two-out walk scored Larissa Goshi. The Mustangs committed two fielding errors in the inning.
Hannah Pitts pitched a four-hitter and Jamie McGaughey batted 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Rainbow Wahine, who have won six consecutive games. Hawaii (26-18, 18-6 Big West) will end the regular season with a three-game series at UC Riverside, which starts Friday. Myleigh Cooper homered for Cal Poly (10-33, 4-20).
Doyle claims water polo academic honor Hawaii’s Gabrielle Doyle was the recipient of the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2026 National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo Championship this past week. Doyle, sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, carries a 4. 0 GPA in business.
The award recognizes individuals who have reached the national championship level and achieved the highest GPA among their peers. Student-athletes must be a sophomore or above. The Rainbow Wahine lost to No.
