— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) April 25, 2026 Furphy, a 6’6” rising sophomore from Australia, was originally recruited to UConn by Luke Murray, who now leads the Boston College program. He was a 4-star recruit out of high school with a lot of potential, but was crowded out on a deep Huskies team that made a run to the 2026 national title game. At BC, he’ll have more opportunity to shine on a team full of transfers looking to prove themselves, and Murray is likely to show some favor to the player he recruited and coached this past season.
In high school, Furphy was lauded for his basketball IQ, passing ability, and three-point shooting, the prototypical player that a team needs to make an offense click. This acquisition could go along way to making BC’s offense function at a high llevel right away under the new coaching system. Welcome to the Heights, Jacob!
