Broncos draft: Early grade for new TE Dallen Bentley

Yahoo Sports

What grade would you give the Broncos for drafting TE Dallen Bentley in the seventh round?

The Denver Broncos selected Utah tight end Dallen Bentley with the 256th pick in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL draft on Saturday evening. Bentley is the second tight end from the Broncos ' draft class, joining fifth-round pick Justin Joly in a suddenly crowded tight end room in Denver. Bentley also reunites with former Ute teammate Caleb Lohner, who was Denver's seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Coming off a 48-catch, six-touchdown year for Utah in 2025, Bentley has good hands. The one downside to Bentley may be his lackluster blocking skills. Interestingly, Bentley returns to Colorado after serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the heart of Broncos Country, in Parker, Colorado .

Broncos Wire initial grade: C+ Bentley possesses the ability to catch the football and make defenders miss. However, there are some serious questions if Bentley can keep up his 2025 production. Bentley went from catching just three passes in two years to a 48-reception campaign.

To be able to fit in the Broncos ' plans in 2026 and beyond, it is imperative for Bentley to improve his blocking. Social : Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X ! Did you know : These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans .
