Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane could be playing key role in Anthony Gordon pursuit
FC Bayern might actually have a great shot to get Anthony Gordon.

(Photo by Kate McShane/Getty Images) | Getty Images Last week it was reported that Bayern Munich star striker and England international Harry Kane had spoken to his countrymen, Anthony Gordon, about a potential move to Bavaria. Based on early returns, Kane’s sales pitch might have worked, but there are complications before anyone thinks this is a done deal.
According to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk , Gordon is all good with a transfer to Bayern Munich, but Gordon’s affinity for Liverpool and Newcastle United’s anticipated asking price (€75 million) could both be obstacles for the Bavarians: ✅ It is TRUE: Anthony Gordon is highly-rated on Bayern’s shortlist. Now, there will be talks about money, so it’s very concrete! Gordon signalled that he could make a move to the Bundesliga, so I think perhaps this is partly Harry Kane’s doing.
Normally, English national players rarely come to the German top-flight. That all said, the transfer fee Newcastle end up demanding for the winger could harm Bayern’s hopes of signing Anthony Gordon. There were many rumours of an €80m [£69.
3m] fee. The Times now suggest it’s actually closer to €75m [£65m]. I think this would be too expensive for Bayern Munich.
