Liverpool create 'problem' in massive €75m transfer talks Liverpool are reportedly a 'problem' as negotiations over a €75m deal continue. Gordon is heavily linked with a move away from Newcastle United this summer as the Magpies go through something of a reset.
Their disappointing campaign will leave them without European football. As a result, they're set to sell at least one big-money player in order to free up cash for further investment. Bayern are eager to sign Gordon in a deal that could approach €75m.
However, Bayern don't want to pay that. They likely don't want to pay anything like it, in fact. Their problem is the lurking Liverpool.
Gordon is a boyhood fan and a local - he's made no secret of his dream to play for the Reds. Liverpool are also far more capable of paying the kind of money Newcastle would want. That creates a massive problem for Bayern, with Newcastle able to point to their Premier League rivals' spending power in order to set the asking price.
