The Red Sox finally had a great win this season after 25 games of below mediocrity, with an explosive 17-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles .

It looked like the Sox had finally gotten something together, and were on their way to start getting out of the hole they dug themselves into. However, it seems they want to do it with a clean slate. Per ESPNโ€™s Jeff Passan , the Red Sox have almost cleaned house of their entire coaching staff , firing manager Alex Cora, hitting coach Peter Fafse, bench coach Ramon Vasquez, game-planning coach Jason Varitek, and third base coach Kyle Hudson.

With that, they have very little to choose from in-house for a replacement, but here are a couple options. Pitching coach Andrew Bailey ยฉ Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Bailey was hired in 2023 as an addition with the new GM Craig Breslow, starting a new chapter in Sox pitching.

He helped pitchers such as Lucas Giolito and Brayan Bello look like borderline All-Stars. He helped Garrett Crochet go from a required All-Star representative to the Cy Young runner-up in one year. If Bailey takes over, the Soxโ€™ pitching would indeed become their focus.
