The Rams used their final pick of the draft on Tim Keenan III, their first defensive player of this class

The Los Angeles Rams waited until their final pick of the 2026 NFL Draft to address the defense. At No. 232 overall in the seventh round, the Rams selected Alabama defensive tackle Tim Keenan III.

Keenan is a massive prospect in a literal sense, standing 6-foot-1 and 327 pounds. He's a true nose tackle who has a knack for clogging up the middle, using his wide frame to eat up blocks and swallow ball carriers. He started 12 games for Alabama last season, recording 16 tackles, three going for a loss, and two sacks.

He was also a team captain, which shows the type of character he brings to the Rams' locker room. Keenan also played 14 games in 2023 and 13 in 2024, totaling 78 tackles, nine tackles for a loss and 3. 5 sacks in those two years.

The Rams have a starting nose tackle already in Poona Ford, but Keenan provides quality depth behind him, giving the Rams another big body in the middle. Los Angeles lacked a true nose tackle after Ford, with Tyler Davis being the closest thing to a backup; he's a versatile defender who can line up across the front.
